An extraordinary prophecy about the Messiah is found in Isaiah 53. The chapter describes in amazing detail the suffering for sin the Christ would endure for the world. Fast forward 700 years, and the Apostle Paul, a former Pharisee writes in 1 Timothy 1:15 that, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.” (ESV) Even Jesus Himself declared in Mark 10:45 how His mission was to serve and give His life as a ransom for many.
All of the Bible is about Jesus. The Old Testament contains many types and shadows which find their fulfillment in Christ. Before Jesus, one had to bring their own lamb to sacrifice for sins. But Christ, who is the Lamb of God, sacrificed Himself to save us. What a wonderful Savior!
