The New World Translation Bible is a corrupted version of the Bible propogated by the Jehovah’s Witness organization, the Watchtower. In this video, you will see the proof of this claim.
Using the the JW.org website, we will show you how the 2013 NWT version has been changed from the 1984 version. The current 2013 version states in Colossians 1:16-17, “(B)ecause by means of him all other things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All other things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all other things, and by means of him all other things were made to exist.” The Watchtower added in the word “other” before the word “all” in verses 16-17 four times.
Why is this a problem? Just take a look at their 1984 version, which put the word “other” in brackets, indicating it was added in by the translators, (B)ecause by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist.”
To make matters worse, the “Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures” does not match up with either of their New World Translation versions! As shown in the video, the Greek does not contain the word “other” in Colossians 1:16-17.
This proves the Watchtower is an evil organization which tries to deceive others into thinking Jesus Christ is not God the Creator. Since Jesus cannot both create everything and be created, the New World Translation inserted the word “other” in order to avoid this logical fallacy.
We recommend using a Bible version in which the translators are known (unlike the NWT), and which match up with the original Greek and Hebrew. Some trustworthy Bible versions include the ESV, NASB, NKJV, and KJV.
Point this stunning error out to the Jehovah’s Witness you are evangelizing. Let us pray this will open up their eyes to the deception of their organization.
